Timber Structural Systems

Natural material. Timeless architecture. Controlled production.

Avena Lux timber housing projects are built on architectural design, engineering discipline, and the proper use of natural materials.
Each structure is planned by jointly evaluating aesthetic expectations, climatic conditions, and usage scenarios.

Here, wood is not a "style," but a conscious structural choice.

Architectural Approach

In timber housing projects, the architectural language is shaped by harmony with the surroundings, balanced proportions, and clean detailing.
The warmth of traditional timber architecture is balanced with a contemporary planning approach.

Instead of unnecessary ornamentation on façades, the following are prioritized:

  • Clear masses

  • Well-proportioned openings

  • Details that highlight the natural texture of the material

Production Approach & Material Standards

Timber construction projects are planned with a focus on long-term performance and structural stability.
Production and implementation processes are carried out with over 20 years of experience in timber construction, a skilled technical team, and a modern manufacturing infrastructure.

Each project is approached not only from an aesthetic perspective, but through a holistic and responsible engineering mindset that considers the entire life cycle of the structure.

Laminated Log Technology

In Avena Lux timber structures, quality begins with the load-bearing system.
For this reason, laminated log technology is used in log house projects.

Approximately 90% of log houses produced in Northern European countries are built using laminated log profiles. This preference represents a defining standard in terms of structural stability, surface quality, and long-term durability.

Key technical advantages of laminated log systems:

  • Minimized risk of cracking and material movement

  • High surface quality and dimensional precision

  • Ability to construct wall elements up to 12 meters in a single piece

  • Perfect fit and structural integrity during installation

Certification & Technical Assurance

All laminated profiles used in timber structures are certified in compliance with:

  • CE Certification
  • European Union health and construction standards

These standards ensure both safety and long-term performance of the structure.

Wood Species
All laminated profiles used in log house projects are produced from five selected pine and coniferous wood species that undergo controlled production processes:

  • Baikal Cedar (Red)

  • Siberian Pine

  • Angara Fir

  • Austrian Alpine Cedar

  • Finnish Blue Spruce

Each wood species is evaluated on a project-specific basis according to climatic conditions, structural requirements, and architectural expectations.

Structural System & Technical Infrastructure

Avena Lux timber structures are designed not only with aesthetic considerations, but with a strong focus on structural safety, longevity, and performance.

  • The load-bearing system is defined through project-specific engineering calculations

  • Controlled production in a factory environment

  • Fast and error-free on-site assembly

  • Layered structural solutions that regulate thermal and moisture balance

  • Timber load-bearing system using laminated log technology (Serwood production infrastructure)

When required, hybrid solutions combining steel and reinforced concrete systems can also be implemented.

Life & Spatial Concept

The primary focus of the planning process is ensuring that spaces align with real, everyday living habits.
The warm atmosphere inherent to timber structures is reinforced through functional and well-balanced planning.

  • Living areas designed to maximize natural daylight

  • Floor plans with a strong indoor–outdoor relationship

  • Solutions adaptable to year-round and seasonal use

Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all template, each project is shaped around the lifestyle and needs of its users.

Production & Implementation Process

Timber housing projects progress through an integrated system where design, production, and on-site implementation are seamlessly connected.

Within this process:

  • Architectural design

  • Engineering

  • Production planning

  • On-site coordination

are addressed as a single, cohesive whole.
Where required, collaboration is carried out with specialized solution partners, each an expert in their respective field.

Project Examples

The timber housing projects presented below are selected implementations developed for different scales and diverse geographical conditions.
Each project has been specifically designed and realized in accordance with its unique context, requirements, and site conditions.

Avena Lux timber housing projects
combine the aesthetic potential of natural materials with engineering discipline.

These structures are conceived as:

  • Visually refined

  • Long-lasting

  • Precisely controlled

  • Living structures

where architecture, performance, and material integrity coexist.

Solution Partnership

Avena Lux collaborates with solution partners that stand out for their production discipline, material quality, and engineering-driven approach in timber construction projects.
Within this framework, technical cooperation is carried out with Serwood for the production of timber structures.
